Welcome to our new area for posting show and other 'zoi-related happenings here at Gryffyn's Aeyrie. You can see more of our day-to-day news online at R. Lynn's blog, Gryffyn's Corner. To see where we will be going, visit the Gryffyn's Aeyrie Calendar page. We enjoy meeting people wherever we go - so if you are going to be attending one of the events I have listed, and would like to meet, feel free to contact me!

I decided to replace the "Show News" section of the website with a little online journal. I'll just post any show news plus other dog-news here and see how it goes.

November 10-11, 2007
Cypress Creek Kennel Club of Texas dog shows (and BCOA TSE)

Houston, TX

The BCOA's Trophy Supported Entry was on Saturday. We had a pretty good day with Arthur going Best in Veteran Sweeps (by default, being the only entry - but he had fun!). We had meant to debut two of the "Boogie Babies" - Wulf and Buster - but hard play in the yard had bruised them up and they weren't their best when gaiting [sigh]. Sometimes you just wanna wrap those puppies in bubble wrap to protect them.

Bugg won the Open Bitch class and went on to take Winners Bitch! A shame that a pup that had been in Sweeps did not show up for the regular classes and broke the major.

Solo went on to win Best of Breed and then won a Hound Group 1 under Prof. Doug Taylor!! We were beyond thrilled - his first Group 1 and still a baby!!

On Saturday at TTKC Moose won Winners Dog for another point and Lars took Reserve from the BBE class. Solo won Best of Breed and then went on to win a Hound Group 3 under Dan Dowling (Velox Borzoi). Needless to say - a VERY exciting day for us!

On Sunday, Moose again took Winners Dog and finished his championship! Solo won Best of Breed and then took a Group 2!

June 28 - July 1, 2007
Mid-Del-Tinker and Oklahoma City Kennel Clubs

Oklahoma City, OK

The first day Sassi won Best Opposite. The 2nd day Solo won Best of Breed. The third day of the show cluster was Saturday, and Victor was in attendance with Bugg - and it was just not their weekend. Although on Saturday Solo won the breed and Sassi was Best Opp to him (bookends!). On Sunday, Sassi won Best Opposite, and Solo just enjoyed himself.

June 23-24, 2007
Arkansas Kennel Club show

Little Rock, AR

Moose won his class both days. Solo won Best of Breed on Sunday, which was great since that was the judge that I hoped would still like him (Elliott Weiss), even though I was the one handling him!

June 16 - 17, 2007
Kennel Club of Texarkana, shows

Texarkana, AR

Moose was entered Saturday only and won his class, and that was it. Solo won Best of Breed both days.

March 31 - April 1, 2007
Claremore Kennel Club of Oklahoma

Claremore, OK

Solo went to Claremore with Jill and won Best of Breed both days, although nothing in the group.

Brazos Valley Kennel Club
Navasota, TX

I traveled down to Navasota for this set of shows, with Moose coming away Reserve Dog both days. It wasn't a total loss, as I discovered never to bother entering under either of the judges again!

March 24, 2007
Fort Worth Kennel Club Shows

Fort Worth, Texas

This was actually a 2-day cluster, but we only showed on Saturday. Our only entry on Sunday was Kalina, but she had cut her pad earlier in the week and was still slightly off (although she managed not to get excused in her class).

Kalina won her class of one; Bugg was 2nd of 5 and Deckard 4th of 5 (acting like a fool - but at least he beat somebody!). Our largest success was Sassi winning Best Opposite.
