Our 2005 BCOA National Specialty Experience

An exhausting but exciting week showing, and working, at the nationals in Mesquite, TX!

At the performance events we had 4 dogs running in LGRA and 4 in ASFA (2 of them, Magik and Beaudreaux, aka Boudie, pulled double duty). Flareon suffered from a dislocated toe on her left hind foot and was pulled from the meet after the first heat. Doodle really came out to play and finished the day as the Best of Opposite Sex! Boudie tied for 4/5 in the points (we include Boudie since he's a Merlyn son, although we don't own him). Magik was quite lazy.

Boudie was our only saving grace at the ASFA trial, since Magik and Rocki turned in less than stellar performances, and Monkee was her usual creative self (although she certainly earned points on enthusiasm). After a run-off for 4th/NBQ in his field champion stake, Boudie placed 4th overall.

In the conformation classes we had 20 entries spread out among 10 dogs - and seemingly never a moment's rest! The majority of our dogs made at least the first cut in each of their classes, including Solo who at 8 1/2 months of age was the youngest dog entered in the Bred-By-Exhibitor Dog Class. He still made the cut over dogs much older than he! Deckard placed in his Futurity and Regular 6-9 Month Puppy Dog class; Spyce placed in her Sweepstakes 6-9 Month Puppy Bitch class; Astyn placed in the 12-18 Month Dog class; and Magik placed in the Open Bitch class. Burni even made the cuts in the Specials until the last one. Placement pictures are below.
